Sarah Bunk Women's College was the first women's college in America! The college was founded 1822 by John Bunkford as the sister school for Bunkford. An alcoholic and a frequent womanizer, John Bunkford sought a way to hide his indiscretions and hit upon the idea of a college. His reasoning - that young girls fresh out of high school would be less likely to report his advances to the police - and since they would be far away from their parents, Bunkford wouldn't have any angry fathers to explain to.

Although he had a roving eye, John Bunkford also had a heart of gold, and each girl who he impregnated was given a single room and free tuition for the full term of her pregnancy. A God-dreading Unitarian, John Bunkford insisted that all of his "girls" (as he called them) carry their children to term. Bunkford College was also the first college in America to have a medical school completely devoted to OB/GYN studies!

John Bunkford also did right by his many children. Each child was put into the Bunkford Orphanage, which was visited each week by Bunk himself!
